Parker County gets monthly bond update; Stewart signal and multiple road projects remain in design

McElwain said two projects were added to the design phase FM 1884 (Bethel Road) and the Central Road culvertand there are currently no projects in the bid phase.
McElwain reviewed precinct-level activity: Precinct 1 right-of-way acquisition for Church Road and Midway Road construction underway; Thomas Road preconstruction and June construction kickoff; poles for the Stewart signal are installed but the signal testing and insulation details remain outstanding, prompting a commissioner to ask staff to "bird dog" TxDOT daily. For Precinct 3, work on frontage roads and drainage is ongoing and the I-20 ramps remain scheduled for letting in August.
On safety questions tied to FM 51 and Carter Road, commissioners pressed for an estimated construction timeline once TxDOT returns comments on a 90% submittal; staff said it would provide an estimate at the next court meeting. "We do not currently have any projects that are in the bid phase," McElwain told the court, and asked the court to expect upcoming advertising for design-complete projects.
