Staff presented grant recommendations for the Horry County-led HOME Consortium (three-county consortium with Georgetown and Williamsburg counties) and the committee approved the awards by voice vote. "For resolution c, the funding recommendation is to Habitat for Humanity of Horry County for 3 different projects," staff said, listing $320,000 for new construction of eight homeowner units (Horry contribution $40,000 per unit), homeowner rehabilitation funds for Myrtle Beach units, and $50,000 in CHDO operating assistance.
Staff also recommended $400,000 to the Eastern Carolina Housing Organization for tenant-based rental assistance that would serve 50 eligible households, and explained HOME-ARP funding will support homelessness prevention services including rental arrears, utility arrears, case management and substance-abuse treatment where eligible. The committee approved resolutions c and d together by voice vote.
