City attorney: bond validation under way and public website planned to track spending

Grant, the city attorney, told the board that the city will initiate the legal validation process for the voter‑approved recreation bond and that the next step is court validation through the state attorney's office. He emphasized that validation is to make the bond legally enforceable but does not relieve officials of accountability for misuse of funds.
"The city's plan, is to have a website. So anyone can go on it. The public can see how much money is spent, how much is left, what the money is being spent on, future projects," Grant said, describing a transparency portal the city plans to build after validation. Staff noted validation is in process and the website is a work in progress; updates will be provided to the board as the bond program is implemented.
