After extended discussion about Fowler Street's ranking on the MPO list and possible funding sources (including the RAISE grant and FDOT programs), a committee member moved that the board invite Ron Gogio of the MPO and Nicole Setzer to the next meeting to discuss Fowler Street and to help the board determine workshop priorities for City Council. The motion was seconded, amended to list the board's top three priorities (Fowler, the Basin, and incentives), and carried by voice vote.
"I move that Mr. Miller contact Ron at the MPO and invite him to our next meeting in December to discuss the Fowler Street project," said the motion maker; the motion was later amended to include the board's prioritized topics. Staff said they will brief the city manager and seek a suitable workshop date if the expert's input indicates the item should proceed to council. The board's vote gives staff direction to pursue an MPO briefing and to prepare materials for a council workshop if appropriate.
