Tonasket School Board approves calendar, food-service contract and insurance renewal; consent agenda passed

At its Aug. 28, 2024 meeting the Tonasket School District board unanimously approved the consent agenda, the 2024–25 board calendar, a food-service management contract and the district insurance renewal and heard reports on finances and school startups.
The Tonasket School District Board of Directors met Aug. 28, 2024; Chair Joyce Fancher called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and led the flag salute. Board members in attendance included Jennie Wilson, Sharron Cox, Ernesto Cerrillo and Rac'qel Plank; Superintendent Kevin Young and Assistant Secretary Anitra Atchison were also present.
Board business included a unanimous approval of the consent agenda after a motion from board member Ernesto Cerrillo, and three separate motions to approve the 2024–25 board calendar, a food-service management company contract and the district insurance renewal. Sharron Cox moved to approve the board calendar and moved to approve the insurance renewal; Ernesto Cerrillo moved the food-service contract. Minutes record that each motion "passed with a unanimous vote." The minutes do not list vote tallies by member, contract dollar amounts, vendor names or insurance premium figures.
