JJ Jones, representing the South Carolina Police Chiefs Association and the state accreditation body, announced that the Horry County Police Department has been reaccredited under the South Carolina law enforcement accreditation program.
"The Horry County Police Department under chief Joe Hill has been cited for reaccreditation in South Carolina," Jones said, calling accreditation "the best of the best" and praising the department's voluntary compliance with state standards for professional law enforcement delivery.
Chief Joe Hill accepted the recognition and credited his command staff for the work required to meet accreditation standards and for training and policy updates that led to both original accreditation and reaccreditation. He thanked staff by name and said the honor reflected the department's commitment to citizens and employees.
