The Cayuga County Civil Service Commission on Feb. 10 approved new position duties statements for several HELP Program and county positions, including Public Health Engineer and Rabies Coordinator, and accepted an exempt classification review for the Chief Assistant County Attorney (Position #007928). Motions approving those items were moved and seconded by commissioners and recorded as unanimous.
The Commission also approved a reinstatement request from Cayuga Community College and authorized abolishment of vacant positions following layoffs, directing staff to notify appointing authorities. The HR Administrator reported ongoing recruitment work, the Annual Report due to the State by March 1, 2026, and that the Deputy Sheriff physical fitness exam will be administered Feb. 21, 2026.
