Brookings County commissioners approved two new tax-exempt property applications at their April 14 meeting — one for the city of Volga and another for a foundation that acquired property this year. Staff said the director of equalization had completed due diligence and recommended approval of both applications.
Commissioners also approved the annual list of properties continuing to receive tax-exempt status. Staff noted the list was published in local papers to satisfy South Dakota Codified Law 10-4-15.1 and walked the board through the short-form continuation process versus long-form requirements for new ownership or changes in use.
