Board clarifies Riverwalk ownership; West Riverwalk lights due in April

Board members raised concerns after noticing a barrier had been placed that closed off parking near England Marine. Jonah, the parks trail coordinator, said the western portion of the Riverwalk is owned and maintained by the port and that the port sets access policy for that area.
Jonah also updated the board on lighting work: “Big River is anticipating that the West Riverwalk lights will be, energized and done, by the 2nd week of April.” The board discussed the ownership boundary on a shared screen and noted the port’s prerogative to open or close its property to the public.
