The City of Monroe Plan Commission unanimously recommended that the common council approve a certified survey map that divides the remnant parcels east of WW Dairy in the Northeast Industrial Park, staff said.
Will, a city staff member, said the recent conveyance of 57 feet to WW Dairy prompted a resurvey and the resulting certified survey map creates Lot 1 — a 5.71-acre remnant intended for future development — and Lot 2, which is designated as the stormwater detention basin. "They recently purchased 57 feet of that lot to add on to what WW Dairy has," Will said, explaining the reconfiguration.
Commissioners asked whether the survey was being done because of a current buyer or to organize parcels for sale; staff replied it was to organize the property so the city is prepared for a potential buyer rather than because of an immediate sale. After brief discussion a commissioner moved to forward the map to the common council and another commissioner seconded.
The clerk called the roll; recorded votes were Lewis Cruz — aye; Jeff Malzinski — aye; Bill Benfke — aye; Ben Voss — aye; Ron Spielman — aye; Mayor Douglas — aye. The motion passed unanimously and the recommendation will be considered by the common council.
