The Cowley County Board of County Commissioners reviewed proposed FY27 budgets at a work session on April 23, 2026, hearing department presentations and requests that will guide the formal FY27 proposal. Jon Jordan, Public Works Superintendent, presented a Public Works budget of $6,073,381, the same level as FY26. County Administrator Lucas Goff presented Administrative Services at $1,043,218, also unchanged from the prior year.
Sheriff David Falletti told commissioners he was asked to reduce items in his original proposal and has cut $45,000 from his department’s budget. Noah DeLaughter, IT Supervisor, presented an IT budget of $737,300, which matched FY26. The session included staff and community speakers for smaller departmental and nonprofit requests; several larger line items (public works and sheriff) will shape discussions during formal budget adoption.
