The Cherokee County Board reviewed requests for ARPA funds and called Carey Spoon of the Southeast Kansas Regional Planning Commission to clarify remaining administrative fees. Spoon told the Board that “there are two remaining billings, one this year, and one in 2025,” and that an interagency agreement requires specifying the dollar amount and what the funds will be designated for.
Spoon also said ARPA funds can be used for equipment and do not need to be tied to a single project. Commissioner Lorie Johnson asked about information needed for an interagency agreement and focused discussion on how remaining administrative fees affect available balances. The Board did not take a funding allocation vote during this meeting.
