Cherokee County commissioners approve payroll, payables and authorize sewer-billing contract

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Oct. 10, 2024, and unanimously approved the payroll and payables presented to the Board. Commissioner Myra Frazier moved to approve payroll; Commissioner Lorie Johnson seconded. Commissioner Cory Moates moved to approve the payables; Commissioner Johnson seconded. Both motions passed unanimously.
The Board also authorized a staff member to execute a contract: Commissioners voted to permit Road and Bridge Office Manager Joni Hicks to sign the county's sewer-billing system contract, a delegation intended to allow staff to finalize the procurement. The session opened at 8:15 a.m. and concluded with an adjournment motion that passed unanimously.
