Cherokee County adopts Riverton sewer map; approves routine payroll, payables and special NRP check

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 27-2024, adopting the Riverton sewer map, during its Nov. 25, 2024 meeting. Commissioner Cory Moates moved to adopt the resolution and Commissioner Myra Frazier seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also handled routine administrative business. Commissioner Lorie Johnson moved to approve the Nov. 18, 2024 minutes, Commissioner Myra Frazier seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Moates moved to approve payroll as presented and Commissioner Johnson seconded; that motion likewise carried unanimously. The board approved payables on a motion from Commissioner Frazier seconded by Commissioner Johnson.
County Treasurer Heather Sapp requested authorization to cut a special check to remedy a missed NRP rebate for the Columbus Bay NRP program; she said she would reimburse the county after the next distribution. Commissioner Moates motioned to approve the special check, Commissioner Johnson seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The board adjourned following routine motions later in the session.
