Commissioners discuss railroad crossing repair, aging programs and road projects; approve $500 donation to Silver Haired Legislators

The commission approved the $500 donation (motion by Commissioner Grund, second by Commissioner Duane Morris, vote 3-0). Grund also reported on museum improvements led by "Beth," efforts by USD 239 to start a foster-grandparent program, and a list of road-and-bridge projects provided earlier by Public Works Director Chris Smith. Commissioner Scott Mortimer noted comparisons across counties can be difficult, saying, "It can be hard to compare because of the industry and income." The commission asked staff to pursue follow-up details such as payroll information from County Treasurer JoDee Copple and to consider an EMS analysis at a future meeting.
