County Clerk Tammi Cox presented the 2026 budget calendar to commissioners, saying Department Head training with Scot Loyd will be April 3, Department Head presentations will be May 26, and the first draft budget review will be June 12. The commission agreed to provide lunch for the three all-day sessions.
Commissioner Carla Grund urged the commission to give budget direction to department heads in advance of the April training, noting that "wages are approximately $3 million dollars of the budget" and asking the commission to address projected healthcare costs and other priorities in the coming week. The commission scheduled a discussion of budget direction for the following meeting.
