County accepts state grants: $138,776 EMPG and $66,404.76 cybersecurity funds

Lancaster County Commissioners approved two state grant actions on May 27. The Department of Public Safety will receive $138,776 from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) under the Emergency Management Performance Grant (Oct. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2025) for 50% reimbursement of salaries and benefits for specified staff positions. The Board authorized Brian P. Pasquale, Executive Director of the Department of Public Safety, to electronically sign the grant agreement.
The Information Technology Department was also approved to receive $66,404.76 from PEMA under the Department of Homeland Security’s State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (Dec. 1, 2025–Nov. 30, 2028) to offset costs for phishing awareness training and vulnerability management, with a 30% County match; the motion passed unanimously.
