SCASAS reported that Carli Clark has joined the agency as an outreach peer to respond to overdoses and aims to contact people within 24–48 hours after an event. The agency also hired a new nurse and said a peer named Chris attends family court one day per week to engage people involved in proceedings.
The update, delivered by Kim Sermonis, noted a local increase in fatal overdoses. The committee discussed how outreach and clinical staffing (including the new nurse) support rapid follow-up after overdoses and link people to services.
