Royal City approves staff travel, wage-rate payroll action and engineering work orders

Finance Director Janice Flynn told Council she and Sherrie Rodriguez would like to attend the Springbrook Rally in Spokane; Council approved attendance with an anticipated combined cost of $1,800.00. Council also approved payment of wages on the Jan. 15, 2026 payroll, including those from the previous pay period, to be paid at 2026 wage rates.
Flynn presented three work orders from Anderson Perry & Associates. Council authorized the Mayor to sign a $21,000 work order for general services and a $15,000 work order for a booster station evaluation; Flynn said a water model work order will be discussed later in the year. WCIA risk mitigation grants and tree removal in the park were discussed as potential grant opportunities; Public Works staff were asked to provide necessary data.
