Council appoints Eric Carlson and Hailey Worsham to fill two vacancies

Mayor Piercy and the remaining councilmembers filled two vacant City Council seats during the Feb. 3 meeting after three applicants made brief presentations. Eric Carlson won the secret ballot for Councilmember position No. 1 and was appointed by motion (m/s Garcia/Kannely); he was sworn in at the meeting.
The vote on Councilmember position No. 4 initially resulted in a tie. Mayor Piercy broke the tie by voting and the council then approved a motion to appoint Hailey Worsham (m/s Carlson/Kannely). The minutes state both Carlson and Worsham were sworn in and joined the council. The minutes note Mayor Piercy thanked all applicants and said their willingness to serve was appreciated.
