County accepts KDHE grants totaling $36,513.60 for FY2027 public-health programs

Sarah Hodges presented KDHE Aid to Local funding applications that, if awarded, will run July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027. The package totals $36,513.60 and includes: Immunization Action Plan by county population ($2,252.00); Maternal Child Health Year 1 of 5 ($9,100.00); Public Health Emergency Preparedness ($11,120.00); State Formula ($12,000.00); and Universal Home Visitor ($2,041.60). Hodges said the totals were 'almost the same as last year' and the Commission voted to approve the grant applications.
Commissioner Grund asked about legislative changes that could affect health departments; Hodges said she was not aware of any and follows legislative activity through her association. The motion to approve the KDHE grant applications passed 3-0.
