The Toquerville City Council on June 17 approved Ordinance 2026.XX, adopting Addendum No. 2 to the Firelight MPDO Plan and Development Agreement to clarify roadway cross sections and ownership. Austin Chappell, representing Firelight, described the proposed material modification and its intent to clarify which cross-section standards apply.
Assistant City Manager Darrin LeFevre reviewed the related standards and specifications. Planning and zoning staff, including Emily Teaters, explained that future trails in Firelight "will be 10 feet wide rather than 12 feet," and that the Planning Commission recommended retaining the optional bike lane in the cross sections as currently shown. Council members questioned whether the cross sections and ownership clarifications matched the community's expectations for phased construction.
Councilman Joey Campbell moved to approve the ordinance and authorize the mayor to execute the addendum; Councilwoman Val Preslar seconded. The motion carried 5-0 (Joey Campbell – aye; Wayne Olsen – aye; Jenny Chamberlain – aye; Val Preslar – aye; Todd Sands – aye).
The ordinance is recorded as Ordinance 2026.XX; the motion's approval authorizes the Mayor to execute Addendum No. 2. The council did not attach additional conditions during the vote.
