The Stephens County Board of Commissioners adopted a speed-zone resolution to lower the posted speed limit on Anderson Thomas Road from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour following a consultant and public-works recommendation.
A staff member explained that KCI Consultants reviewed the short, one-mile paved stretch, noted sharp vertical curves and adjacent driveways and mailboxes, and recommended reducing the posted limit by five miles per hour. "We reached out to Todd McDuffie with KCI Consultants... they do recommend ... that we reduce that road to a posted 25 miles per hour speed limit," the staff member said. The board voted to adopt the resolution authorizing the chair to sign.
Commissioners asked questions about the recommendation and staff confirmed public-works concurrence with the change. The motion to adopt the speed-zone resolution carried without recorded amendments.
