The Stephens County Board of Commissioners voted to place a SPLOST reimposition question on the upcoming November ballot after staff presented a resolution asking the board to authorize the chair to sign election paperwork.
A staff member told the board the resolution was the final step needed to forward documentation to the board of elections and have the question appear on the ballot. Commissioner moved to approve the resolution; the motion was seconded and "That motion carries," the chair said after the vote. The resolution authorizes placing the SPLOST question before voters in November and allows the chair to execute related paperwork.
The staff member said the county will forward the documents to the board of elections after adoption. The board took no additional amendments or conditions when it approved the resolution.
