Winn Parish road crews install culverts; Harrisonburg Road bridge letting procured with closure expected

Road operations were a key update at the June 15 meeting. Operator Gavin Snowden reported that graders are operating and crews have been installing new culverts on Mars Hill Church Road. Road Superintendent Perry Holmes said the letting on the Harrisonburg Road bridge has been procured and a pre-construction meeting is expected in roughly a month; Holmes noted the road will have to be closed during the construction process.
Holmes told the Jury the RAC project has two remaining gravel roads to be completed. He also noted recent hires and inmate crew usage to fill staffing gaps — the meeting record says a pothole driver was hired last week, and an inmate is assigned to tractor work while another assists with mechanic tasks, with supervision arrangements in place.
