The Winn Parish Police Jury on June 15 approved invoices across major funds with a grand total of $655,002.15. The bill approval report showed the General Fund at a deficit this month pending reimbursement from FEMA for a Hazard Mitigation Grant; the Road Fund is likewise awaiting FEMA and RAC reimbursements. The report was signed by the Bill Approval Committee: Frank McLaren, Deionne Carpenter and Kyle Potts.
The Jury adopted two resolutions: one to assist the Village of Calvin by filling a mud hole on South Calvin Road (Resolution #010 of 2026) and another entering an agreement with Capital Area Finance Authority to allow downpayment assistance for first-time homebuyers and veterans in Winn Parish (Resolution #011 of 2026). The meeting also appointed the Winn Parish Enterprise as the official journal for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027, and the Jury voted to move the July regular meeting to July 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. because of the NACo conference in New Orleans.
All recorded motions at the meeting passed with the same tally reported at each vote: 6 yeas, 0 nays, 0 absent and 1 abstained. The minutes do not identify which juror abstained.
