Fayette County approves lease for 180-foot MARCS monopole on county property

The Fayette County commissioners on April 20, 2026 approved a lease with the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services to host a 180-foot monopole communications tower for the Multi-Agency Radio Communications System (MARCS).
The leased premises at the intersection of Greene Road NE and State Route 38 in Washington Court House will be used to install, construct, operate and maintain the tower. The lease term begins May 1, 2026 and extends through June 30, 2027, with options to renew for up to thirty successive and continuous two-year terms. The board voted unanimously to accept the lease; the full lease is on file with the commissioners.
