Commissioners approve JFS contracts: Eastway respite amendment, workforce management and summer youth program
Summary
The Fayette County commissioners approved an amendment to the county's Title IV-E placement contract to add respite at $400 per diem and contracts with Workforce Services Unlimited totaling up to $120,000 for workforce management and a summer youth employment program (funded by TANF).
The Fayette County Board of Commissioners on April 20, 2026 approved three related actions at the request of Faye Williamson, Director of the Fayette County Department of Job and Family Services.
The board approved an amendment to the Title IV-E child placement contract with OhioMHAS - Eastway Corporation to include short-term respite services at a rate of $400.00 per diem; all other contract terms remain unchanged. The board also approved a management/oversight contract with Workforce Services Unlimited for administration of workforce programs through June 30, 2027 with a maximum payment of $90,000, to be funded through partner cost-sharing. Separately, the board approved a Workforce Services Unlimited contract to deliver a summer youth employment program for eligible youth aged 14–18 from May 1 through September 30, 2026, with a maximum payment of $30,000 funded by TANF.
Each contract was moved and approved by roll call (motions recorded as carried). The actions were made at the request of the department director and include standard funding and reporting requirements under the county's administration.
