The Niles City Council on Dec. 16 authorized an emergency purchase of $70,576.87 from Selge Construction Company of Niles to repair a water main and street in the 1400 block of Sioux Trail. Councilmember Timothy Rogers moved the measure and Councilmember Michael Thompson seconded; the roll call showed seven yeas, none opposed, with Councilmember Jessica Nelson absent.
