Fayette County hires ORDC to administer $700,000 CHIP application; two public hearings set

On April 13 the Fayette County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the Ohio Regional Development Corporation (ORDC) to administer and implement the county's PY-2026 Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) Program application and to submit the application on behalf of Fayette County and the City of Washington Court House.
The resolution states the application would seek $700,000 from the State of Ohio Development Services Agency's Office of Community Development and makes the agreement contingent on receipt of PY-2026 CHIP funding. The Board also authorized ORDC to execute HOME written agreements and other necessary documents related to CHIP projects if the award is received; the motion passed by roll call (all aye).
Separately, the Board set two public hearings on the County's intent to apply for PY-2026 CHIP: April 20, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. and May 4, 2026 at 3:00 P.M., both to be held in the Commissioners' office. The April 20 hearing was advertised April 8, 2026. The minutes record the authorization of ORDC and the hearing dates but do not include program-level budgets or project lists within the meeting minutes.
