Juvenile court asks board to accept $422,662 grant for therapy and summer mentoring

Nicole Castiel, speaking for the juvenile court, asked the board to accept a FY27 juvenile-justice incentive grant awarded by the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. "Criminal Justice Coordinating Council has awarded to the county a total of $422,662 as part of the FY '27 juvenile justice incentive grant," Castiel said, and described the proposed use as multisystemic therapy and a summer mentoring prosocial educational program for adjudicated youth and their families.
Castiel said the grant does not require a local match and that the county has received similar funding for about 12 years. Commissioners had no substantive questions and the item was scheduled to be taken up at the evening meeting for formal acceptance.
