Troup County commissioners approved staff's recommendation to award the Fire Station Number 9 renovation contract to Riley Construction for $388,000.
County staff (Jay) said Riley submitted the lowest qualifying proposal and best met the scope and specifications for the three-bedroom, two-bath option and two apparatus bays. Jay told commissioners the contract work is expected to start after the county completes contract, payment and performance bond paperwork—"I mean, I can see 30 days"—with an estimated construction window of roughly four to six months and an expected late-year opening.
