Harnett County will fund Coats library renovations; commissioners approve work at town‑owned building

Brown described the project as targeted renovations to “enhance the facility's functionality and accommodate a growing demand for community activities,” and she told commissioners the work should take approximately two weeks and that the library would remain open during the renovations. Town Manager Nick Holcomb and board members asked about timing and whether services would be interrupted; Brown answered that closures were not planned.
The approval allows county‑funded improvements to move into the procurement and scheduling phase. The action was recorded as a formal motion (mover: Commissioner Kelvin Gilbert; second: Commissioner Shirley Allen) and passed unanimously.
