Stacie Hubbert, director of the Allen County Department of Environmental Management (ACDEM), requested renewal of a joint services agreement with the City of Fort Wayne to hold Toxaway Saturdays twice in 2026, supplementing weekly Tuesday collections. Hubbert also requested renewal of a contract with Veolia ES Technical Solutions to process and dispose of collected household hazardous waste.
Commissioner Ronald W. Turpin moved approval of both agreements; Commissioner Therese M. Brown seconded and the motions carried 3-0. Hubbert characterized the Toxaway Saturdays as an expansion of collection opportunities available to residents and said Veolia will continue as the processor for the material collected at county events.
