During the regular meeting Stephens County commissioners approved five invoices and quotes over $10,000 and received a fiscal update from Finance Director James Elrod.
On procurement the board approved: an additional year of support from Flock Safety ($36,000); a quote from Osage for a new ambulance ($411,000) requested by EMS Director Bridal Bennett (the county noted it can back out before production); equipment for the landfill from James Short ($47,854); a gasoline delivery from Acre Oil ($13,839.77); and two boom rollers from Reynolds Warren Equipment ($230,000). Staff said the Reynolds Warren units were lightly used state‑rental machines offered at reduced cost. The board moved and approved payment for the listed invoices.
Finance Director James Elrod presented pre‑audit FY‑25 fourth‑quarter numbers and told the board total general‑fund revenues were about $23,200,000, with roughly $17,000,000 from taxes (about 74% of the total) and $3,400,000 from sales tax. He noted several departments ran over budget (data processing, building inspection, sheriff's office) and that ARPA funds are fully allocated for the year. "Overall, the county performed well in FY '25," Elrod said, while recommending audit adjustments and end‑of‑year amendments as accruals are finalized.
Commissioners did not take additional budgetary actions at the meeting beyond approving the purchases and accepting the pre‑audit report; staff will proceed with procurement steps and complete the audit cycle in the coming months.
