Stephens County commissioners voted to rezone two parcels owned by Verbena Roots Properties Incorporated (Meadowbrook Drive, parcels 043117 and 043100) from agricultural residential to residential single following a Planning Commission recommendation and supporting testimony.
Proponent Hugh Champion said soil testing and a road allowance provided options for dividing the property for residential development. The Planning Commission recommended approval and no opposition spoke during the public hearing. Commissioners moved to approve the rezoning during the regular session and recorded a unanimous vote.
The rezoning will be recorded with county land records and permits for residential development will follow applicable permitting processes.
