Troup County commissioners approve slate of board and advisory appointments

Miss West, speaking for county staff, read the slate that included reappointments of Dale Strickland and Kaye Elam to the Family and Children Services Board for five-year terms and appointments and reappointments to historic-preservation and behavioral health councils. Miss West also announced reappointments of Lonnie Thornton Sr. and Dustin Jones to the Troup County Public Facilities Authority and an appointment of Richard Woods to the Troup County Water Review Board.
The board had no public comment or questions and approved the slate by motion. No costs were associated with the corrections staff described; county staff said earlier errors in the 2023 UDO update required some map corrections, and affected owners were notified.
The appointments take effect as listed; staff did not specify start dates in the meeting record.
