Alon Valdez told the board he planned to apply for a USDA Parks and Recreation grant that would provide $2,000 with no county match required and said the money would be used for a facility club tournament in the fall.
"It will provide $2,000 and it does not require a match," Valdez said. The County Manager indicated the application would be taken up for formal action at the evening meeting.
The grant request is small but typical of recurring park-level funding applications intended to support programming and local tournaments.
