The Board of Pottawatomie County Commissioners voted July 13 to support hiring one full‑time registered nurse for the county Health Department. Health Department Director Leslie Campbell and Human Resources Director Jamie Douglass asked the board "to combine part-time RN position and Community Health Worker in to full-time RN," and Commissioner Merl Page moved to support the hire; Vice Chair Deloyce McKee seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
County officials said the change is intended to re-arrange wages and consolidate staff time to meet department needs; the board did not set a hiring timeline in the meeting record. The action was recorded as a formal motion and vote on the consent of commissioners present.
