At 7:23 p.m. Commissioner Mason Ruder moved to recommend approval; Commissioner Kevin Beiker seconded the motion and the vote carried 5-0. The Conditional Use Permit "will go before the commissioners tentatively on June 16th, 2026 for review." The commission recorded no conditions in the meeting minutes other than the standard referral to county commissioners for final action.
Neighbors raised concerns about road access to properties adjacent to the proposed site; Environmental Services Director Justin Craig said he would contact the county Road and Bridge department to discuss the issues and follow up with the commission. The recommendation from the planning commission is advisory; final approval rests with the Ellis County Commission when it considers the item in June.
