Haley Jinderich of HR Green told the Anamosa City Council on Feb. 24 that HR Green is managing eight active projects for the city, from sidewalk planning to sewer rehab and a bridge funding study. She said preliminary plans for the 3rd Street sidewalk are due on or before May 20 and that HR Green will coordinate with the DOT on award letters and funding agreements the city must approve before project letting.
Jinderich summarized each project: a paused citywide sidewalk/ADA ramp survey pending city direction; next steps on a Well 7 siting study and land acquisition; the water treatment plant disinfection project (switched to chlorine bleach and now substantially complete); an alley sewer project between Ford and North Huber (down to one remaining easement); continued work on the city GIS database and headstone/plots indexing; a Dillon Military Bridge funding information effort; and a sanitary sewer rehab near Elm and Hickory, for which a DNR construction permit application has been submitted and easement letters sent to property owners.
Councilors pressed staff for detail on funding and construction methods. One council member questioned the $1,177,500 DOT funding figure for the 3rd Street sidewalk; Melissa Clow (on the line) said that dollar figure came from the DOT website and offered to provide a funding breakdown by email. On the sanitary sewer rehab Jinderich said crews plan to line segments under buildings and use open-cut methods where the main is collapsed, and that multiple easements are needed for a parallel sewer alignment.
