Ellis County hears Tallgrass/ibV Energy solar CUP and contribution agreement; no vote

County Administrator Darin Myers and ibV representatives Steven Link and Patrick Ripa described the sequence of documents anticipated for the project (CUP, contribution agreement, road use agreement, emergency response and decommissioning plans). The presentation included projected revenue figures from the Contribution Agreement: approximately $6,285 per megawatt, an estimated $1,100,000 in the first year, increasing 1% yearly over 10 years and a total revenue figure the developer presented as $11,508,433.80. Commissioners and staff emphasized public review; "No commission vote for these documents will be called at this meeting," the record states.
Staff noted additional permits and documents remain under development (road use, emergency response, decommissioning). The commission requested the documents be placed on the June 2 agenda to permit roughly 18 days of public review and comment before any potential vote.
