The board approved two overnight trips for the Kingsburg High School choir. The first trip to Fullerton and Anaheim (April 17–19, 2026) for the Fullerton College Jazz Festival and a Disneyland visit and the second trip for the Central Coast Choral Festival (April 24–25, 2026) were both approved on March 16. Trustee Johnie Thomsen moved both motions; Trustee Rick Jackson seconded. Each motion passed 4–1 with Clerk Brent Lunde recorded as the lone no vote.
The minutes do not specify Lunde's reason for voting no, nor do they list trip chaperone ratios, per‑student costs, or the number of participating students. The trips were entered in the meeting packet as agenda items 9.8 and 9.9 and will proceed under district field‑trip procedures.
