Kingsburg alternative programs earn full WASC accreditation; CAASPP testing set to begin

Superintendent Dr. Ryan Phelan and Director Ryan Walterman announced that OASIS and Kingsburg Independent Study have met ACS WASC accreditation criteria, a milestone the district recorded at the April 13 board meeting. Walterman and Principal Ivan Nunez highlighted continued improvement at the alternative programs and praised staff for their work on accreditation.
The board received a principal's report that senior end-of-year activities are under way. CAASPP testing was scheduled to begin April 14 with Science and Math tests the first week and English testing the following week. Director Walterman said graduation for the alternative education students is scheduled for June 2 at the Kingsburg High School gym and that approximately 50 seniors are expected to participate.
Board members congratulated staff for the accreditation outcome and noted the testing schedule and graduation date were entered into the agenda materials.
