Road and Bridge supervisor reports recent paving costs, paint purchases and mowing plans

He reviewed recent paving work and contractor costs: he named Teeters as contractor on a one-mile job in Commissioner District 3 and said a separate one-mile job in District 2 cost $19,500. Zook also reported figures in the minutes that appear inconsistent when read together: the minutes state Teeters charged "$'142,373" for a mile in District 3 and list prep costs of $14,693.60; those numbers are recorded as stated in the meeting minutes and appear to conflict in scale.
Zook said Teeters "did a great job, with a great outcome." He told the board the county purchased four 55-gallon barrels of white paint and four 55-gallon barrels of yellow paint at $90.30 per barrel; the paint itself was donated and the county covered the barrels and freight, and Zook reserved one white barrel for the Rainbow Bridge. Commissioners pressed Zook on mowing and weed control after he described possible solutions, including repairing mowers, buying different mowing equipment, or using chemicals; Zook said his immediate plan is to get mowers running and that he would follow up on areas identified by Commissioner Johnson.
The report was informational; the board did not take separate formal action on the procurement or the mowing plan during this meeting. The minutes record that Commissioner Johnson and Commissioner Frazier raised concerns and asked Zook for follow-up on specific locations.
