Town Manager Brian Raducci said the designs have been vetted by the town’s traffic engineer and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and that the pilot would inform whether to convert other rubber bumps to permanent speed tables.
Raducci estimated the permanent devices cost "about 3,000 to 4,000 a piece," and that implementing the pilot on South Lake would cost roughly $16,000. He said the town will consider the results of the pilot and, if effective, aim to replace temporary rubber units and adopt the speed‑table standard for future approved installations.
