The Calumet County Parks Commission unanimously elected Supervisor Mary Schwalenberg as chair and Supervisor Pete Stier as vice chair at its May 7, 2026 meeting.
Citizen Member Ken Draheim moved and Supervisor Pete Stier seconded a motion "to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for Mary Schwalenberg as Chair," which carried unanimously. The commission used the same nomination-and-unanimous-ballot procedure to select Pete Stier as vice chair.
The leadership votes were conducted by voice and resolved without roll-call tallies in the minutes, recorded as unanimous. Following the votes, Schwalenberg assumed the role of chair and presided over the remainder of the meeting.
