Town previews conceptual beach improvement plan, flags funding and referendum limits
Summary
Town Manager Brian Raducci said the town will ask CPC CPZ Architects to prepare a conceptual plan for a comprehensive beach improvement (boardwalk, pier, parking, amphitheater among options). He noted funding is uncertain and reminded the council the town cannot sell property without voter approval, which affects financing options.

Town Manager Brian Raducci told the council staff plans to ask CPC CPZ Architects to provide a scope of services and conceptual site plans for a possible comprehensive beach improvement project. Raducci said the concept could include elements from a pier to an amphitheater and emphasized a phased approach to avoid prolonged beach closures while staff seeks funding.
On financing, Raducci said the town has three vacant parcels on North Lake Drive that could be considered to help finance improvements but cautioned, "the town really can't sell town property without a voter referendum," so any sale or long‑term lease option would require public approval. He said the architect’s scope will include public outreach (charrettes) and educational work tied to potential referendum planning.
