The commission on June 10 approved a contract to repair a storm-damaged county salt barn. Chair described the work as replacement of the cover and several metal components that had been damaged during storms earlier this year and noted the original contractor that installed the structure about 20 years ago submitted the only bid.
"It's gonna come out and replace, the cover and the several of the metal pieces there because of what's stored in there," the Chair said while describing the needed repairs. Chair added that the company that originally built the structure about two decades ago was the only bidder. The motion to approve the repair passed 3-0.
The measure is recorded as a resolution; the transcript does not include a dollar amount for the work or a contract number. The county will proceed with the original installer, per the motion recorded in the meeting minutes.
