Commission unanimously approves routine bills, hires and contracts in work meeting

The Beaver County Board of County Commissioners approved a package of routine items April 21, including payment of county bills and the ratification of several contracts and hires. "Motion to approve County Bills was made by Comm. Pearson (aye), seconded by Comm. Yardley (aye), and the vote was made unanimous," the minutes state. Commissioner Tammy Pearson and Commissioner Brandon Yardley led several of the motions; Chairman Wade Hollingshead joined roll-call or unanimous affirmations on each item.
Actions ratified included engineering agreements with Jones & DeMille for a Geothermal Road turning-lane study and a Beaver County Fairgrounds parking-lot assignment order; a Terracon access agreement for hazardous-material surveying at the former Milford Hospital; the ratification of new hires (Chloee Anderson, Kayla Webster and Denise Davis); and a $198,271 contract with Comfort Systems USA for two boiler units. The board also voted to enter a closed session to discuss personnel, potential litigation strategy and real property negotiation before returning to open session. Most motions were moved by Commissioner Yardley or Commissioner Pearson and received unanimous approval.
